Seco Tools has expanded its range of tapping solutions with the launch of a new thread cutting and forming taps product line.

As one of the fastest growing end mill and drill areas in the Seco Tools portfolio, the company’s solid-round tool reconditioning service experienced an increase in use by over 30% in 2022.

Manufacturers must overcome specific machining challenges cost effectively. With this goal in mind, Seco offers its comprehensive range of Hydraulic Chucks and accompanying Reduction Sleeves in three versions, each able to accommodate several tool shank size variations for reduced tooling inventory. With 360° tool-shank holding strength and precise centering, the Hydraulic Chucks and Expansion Sleeves ensure reliability, along with exceptional machining performance and maximized tool life.

From November 1, 2022, Mia Bökmark has lead the newly formed Product Management and Research & Development function at Seco Tools. She would report to Stefan Steenstrup, President Seco, and become a member of the Seco Management Group.

On November 9, 2022, Seco Tools and selected partners will host the hybrid live event, Automotive & General Engineering ITI. Machining demonstration sessions as well as expert presentations will introduce the latest solutions for automotive manufacturing and general engineering. Hosted physically in the new Innovation Hub in Erkrath near Düsseldorf, Germany, the German Auto ITI program will be streamed live online. In addition, an English stream will be available sharing highlights and interviews from the live German event.

Milling challenging materials like tough steels, stainless steels, superalloys and titanium cause built-up or notched edges and broken inserts that increase tooling costs and cause unexpected downtime.

To allow manufacturers to meet customer demand for lower part prices, the new Seco Helical SN8-13 milling system features double-sided helix inserts with eight cutting edges that significantly lower cost per edge to boost slotting, side milling and circular rough milling efficiency.

To ensure sustainability and efficient distribution operations, Seco Tools has opened a new fully automated facility in Den Hoorn, Netherlands. The new Distribution Center will service all of Europe and provide capacity for future growth while further strengthening the company’s customer support and responsiveness.

As of November 2, 2021 the Polish company Fabryka Narzędzi FANAR S.A. (Fanar), a manufacturer of solid round tools, will become part of the offering from Seco. Fanar will enhance the Seco product offering in solid threading.
