ABB has announced enhancements to their flagship ReliaGear LV MCC low voltage motor control center. In addition to ACS580 variable frequency drives, ReliaGear LV MCC is now available with PSTx softstarters up to 500 HP, motor starters with SACE^® Tmax^® XT motor circuit protectors, and UMC100.3 relays.

Successful trials at three Anglian Water sites prove variable speed drives can cut the energy used by Archimedes’ screws. A series of trials by Anglian Water, during which variable speed drives (VSDs) were used to control the speed of Archimedes’ screws, has resulted in a £26,000 energy saving in three months across three wastewater treatment sites.

Canadian company GHGSat, which specializes in high-resolution GHG monitoring from space, launches three new ABB-built optical sensors into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, doubling capacity to monitor methane gas emissions.
