SIEMENS TO BUILD A WORLD-LEADING 2-POLE ELECTRIC MOTOR

Siemens LDA has received an order from a Chinese customer to deliver a special machine with dual shaft extension. It can be used in motor operation with a power of 105 MW and as generator with up to 129 MVA in power generation mode. The motor will have an efficiency of beyond 98 percent and will be a world-leading 2-pole electric motor.

SIEMENS MOBILITY AND EVERIS TO DEVELOP A MOBILITY AS A SERVICE (MAAS) PLATFORM FOR RENFE IN SPAIN

Siemens Mobility and everis have been awarded a 5-year contract by Renfe, the national railway company of Spain, to develop and operate a countrywide, intelligent Mobility as a Service (MaaS) platform. The comprehensive digital platform will integrate various modes of shared and public transport, such as train, bicycle, metro, bus, car sharing, and scooter services, so passengers can easily identify and directly book the trip option that best meets their needs. Once completed, the platform will be available in 27 cities across Spain including metropolitan areas like Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, Bilbao, and Sevilla.

Siemens Mobility and Continental Engineering Services (CES) will cooperate in the future on the development and manufacture of pantographs for trucks. The eHighway technology from Siemens Mobility supplies trucks with electricity via an overhead line. The cooperation aims to electrify key stretches of highway-networks in Germany’s autobahn network with overhead contact lines and thus significantly reduce CO 2 emissions from trucks. The new partnership combines expertise from two technology worlds: Siemens Mobility is a specialist in rail electrification, Continental Engineering Services is a development and production service provider for automotive technologies. The two companies will now pool their know-how to quickly achieve series production of truck pantographs.
