DASSAULT SYSTÈMES AT HANNOVER MESSE

At this year's Hannover Messe from April 22-26, 2024, Dassault Systèmes showcases the relevance of virtual twin experiences and robot-based automation.

DASSAULT SYSTÈMES AT HANNOVER MESSE

In hall 17 at booth E16, Dassault Systèmes will demonstrate the benefits of end-to-end digitalization on its 3DEXPERIENCE platform, including the integration of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for flexible production, together with its partner OMRON, one of the world's leading automation companies.

Part of the showcase with OMRON is the Asset Administration Shell (AAS), an administration shell by the Industrial Digital Twin Association (IDTA) to support standard-compliant data exchange in manufacturing, whose interaction with the 3DEXPERIENCE platform will be demonstrated using the example of the flexible production plant. This is intended to optimize value chains and create new business models, and will actively promote the standardization of the digital industrial landscape.

Virtual twin experiences simplify manufacturing processes
Dassault Systèmes’ joint showcase with OMRON features a shop floor with mobile, autonomous robots including four stations of the production process. At the booth, decision-makers and managers of the manufacturing industry will discover how virtual twin experiences simplify the process from factory planning to operation, increase efficiency and enhance flexibility, for example:
  • System planning in the pre-sales phase: Production lines can be planned in advance in 3D on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. This ensures that new machines and mobile robots fit into the layout and are optimally positioned, e.g., in terms of power supply and walking paths. The use of a virtual twin also increases flexibility and efficiency through robot simulations and the design of new workflows.
  • Virtual commissioning: To ensure smooth integration, workflows can be simulated virtually in advance and various scenarios can be tested before physical commissioning. This allows errors in the control process and bottlenecks to be identified at an early stage. Companies benefit from shorter installation times and efficient processes.
  • Management: The larger the fleet of mobile robots, the more complex the monitoring and management of operations becomes. The virtual twin on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform serves as a control center. It brings together operating data such as key performance indicators and material information in real time, providing a comprehensive overview.
  • After-sales service: A specific virtual twin, which is individually tailored to customer requirements, enables data-based, sustainable and predictive maintenance. Sensor data is analyzed using artificial intelligence and machine learning to detect and rectify potential failures at an early stage. Proactive planned maintenance is possible to minimize downtime. Augmented reality technology can also be integrated. The real environment is fully and unrestrictedly viewed and additional virtual information – in the form of an extended viewing window – is projected onto the camera image of a tablet PC or smartphone. This enables precise diagnoses, and shortens repair times.
