KUKA at EMO 2025: Smart automation along the entire process chain

The challenges in industrial production have increased due to the uncertainties in global politics and the global economy. Therefore, flexibility and the ability to react quickly are in high demand. At EMO, KUKA will demonstrate how automation can significantly simplify work processes such as loading and unloading, intralogistics and the mechanical processing of workpieces.

Technology you can touch: Mobility Area showcases integrated automation
Many work processes, from handling and loading machine tools to intralogistics, can be fully automated. KUKA's extensive product portfolio makes this possible by providing all the necessary components, from hardware to software. A practical example from metalworking is the KR IONTEC, which automatically deburrs components and is presented by the partner company WMS Engineering.

KUKA demonstrates autonomous mobile robotics with the KMP 1500P
MAIROTEC will present the MAIROFlex CYBERTECH, which is used not only for quality inspections but also for picking thanks to its reliable bin picking capabilities. BEC GmbH will demonstrate a mobile robot in action, focusing on automatic tool changing. The KMP 1500P, an autonomous, mobile platform that transports workpieces safely to their destination, ensures a smooth material flow.

For components weighing several tons: the KR TITAN ultra heavy-duty robot
KUKA will also showcase the concentrated power of robotics at EMO: the KR TITAN ultra was developed with a payload capacity of up to 1.5 tons and a comparatively low dead weight for precise handling of heavy components. Whether pallet handling for machine tools, handling of engine blocks, battery boxes or precast concrete parts – this robot moves what others cannot lift and will be on display at the trade fair.

Easy to use: simple integration thanks to smart software solutions
The new, powerful KUKA operating system iiQKA.OS2 will also be represented at the booth. As a virtual robot controller (VRC) with comprehensive engineering and innovative features iiQKA.OS2 enable efficient virtual commissioning and optimized processes. It is developed for maximum performance, is standard-compliant, and is cyber-resilient. Additionally, the iiQKA.mxAutomation software interface has been expanded in collaboration with Siemens to include the SRCI industry standard, providing greater flexibility in integrating robotic products.

Fast integration thanks to standardized interface
The topic of intuitive and seamless integration of KUKA robots into existing automation environments will be demonstrated using the KUKA.PLC mxAutomation software solution. Robots can be programmed and controlled directly in the familiar control environment via a standardized interface. HEIDENHAIN, a measurement and control technology specialist from Traunreut, Germany, takes advantage of this feature: HEIDENHAIN's CNC control has been extended with an interface that allows the robot and machine tool to be operated together.

According to HEIDENHAIN, this significantly simplifies the handling of both systems. Machine tools with HEIDENHAIN controls can be retrofitted up to the year 2010. A team of experts from KUKA and its partners will be available at the stand to provide individualized advice.
