Tata Steel puts more power into high strength steel

As a consequence of the growing market demand for high strength steel (HSS), Tata Steel has upgraded one of the reels of hot strip mill 2. In order to meet the higher electrical power requirement, Eaton delivered its new switchgear system for medium voltage: Power Xpert® UX. The delivery to Tata Steel is the first delivery of UX in the Netherlands. Eaton has already delivered this switchgear system worldwide for various applications.

Digital Combined RCD/MCB Devices and Type B+ Digital ResidualCurrent Circuit-Breakers From Eaton

After the development of the digital residualcurrent circuit-breaker, Eaton's Electrical Sector - is expanding its product range with a digital combined RCD/MCB device and a digital residualcurrent circuit-breaker with type B+ tripping characteristics. This top quality, efficient series will be available to customers under the name xEffect.

First New Switch-Disconnectors for Photovoltaic Applications up to 1500V DC with Rated Operational Currents up to 1600A

Eaton’s Electrical Sector has significantly further developed its proven DC switch-disconnector product. The constantly growing requirements placed on the efficiency of PV installations require operating voltages above the previously usual limits of 1000 VDC. For the first time, switches for up to 1500V DC with rated operational currents up to 1600A are now available. Switches and accessories are now suitable for ambient temperatures up to 65°C. Typical applications for example are switch-disconnectors in generator terminal boxes, as well as isolating main switches that are suitable for use as maintenance and repair switches on the incoming side of the DC/AC inverter.

Eaton Grid and System Protection to VDE-AR-N 4105 – in the 14 kVA to 866 kVA Rating Range (20 A to 1250 A)

Eatons Electrical Sector is offering individual components for network and system protection to VDE-AR-N 4105, as well as ready to install and connect complete solutions. These individual components include contactors with a low sealing power and motor-operated circuit-breakers with low power undervoltage releases.

New NRX Circuit-Breaker Series from Eaton: Small, Flexible, Efficient

Eaton's Electrical Sector is offering the new NRX circuit-breaker series, consisting of versatile circuit-breakers up to 4000 A – for economically optimized solutions. The IZMX16 from the NRX series is currently the smallest air circuit-breaker in the world. Its innovative concept allows the side-by-side mounting of two withdrawable circuit-breakers in a 600 mm wide panel. This makes for economical and space saving panel design. Furthermore, if switching from a distance is required, a motor for tensioning the spring-operated stored energy mechanism and magnetic coils for the on and off command are also integrated in this design volume. In a nutshell, more performance in a minimum of space.

Automatic Transfer Switches for Power Distribution Systems: Microprocessor-Controlled ATS-C Transfer Switch System From Eaton

Eaton's Electrical Sector is launching the ATS-C transfer switch system, an automatic transfer switch system for power distribution systems. Mains supply failures can lead to critical situations, particularly in sensitive applications such as in hospitals, IT centers, commercial or infrastructure buildings, as well as in industrial manufacturing processes. If faults in the grid occur, the uninterrupted power supply (UPS) is a top priority in this case for the protection of persons and in order to secure service continuity. The new ATS-C microprocessor-controlled transfer switch system from Eaton ensures here the automatic or manual switching from the main power supply grid to the standby grid or generator, and thus ensures the security of the low-voltage supply at all times.
