Voith will deliver eight electric Voith Schneider Propellers (eVSP) to the Norwegian shipping company Østensjø, thus enabling resource-saving and energy-efficient operation of the four offshore wind supply vessels.

With the new electric Voith Schneider Propeller (eVSP), Voith is pushing ahead with the continuous electrification of its proven drive technologies, thus meeting the growing demand for resource-saving and energy-efficient mobility as well as future-oriented mobility concepts. Among the advantages of the new eVSP are high efficiency and the reduction of complexity, since the permanent-magnet synchronous motor is already integrated in the propeller. The complete omission of gears reduces noise to a minimum and frees up critical space on the ship.

Voith’s new refurbishment service for screw presses enables the full restoration of screw performance and reduces downtimes by up to 20% compared to conventional repair methods. With SmartGrinder, the new refurbishment service, customers can restore original screw performance and achieve an optimum balance between operating costs and technological performance – a decisive factor for paper quality and cost efficiency in paper production.

Voith is expanding its product portfolio in the BlueLine stock preparation line with the launch of a new disperger with hydraulic gap adjustment. InfibraDisp is characterized by precise, infinitely variable gap adjustment, automated zero-point adjustment and user-friendly handling. The newly developed, smart control unit enables monitoring of filling wear and prevents any risk of plate contact with vibration sensors. As the core element of the BlueLine Compact Dispersion System, the new InfibraDisp contributes significantly to the provision of a high-quality raw fiber material based on recovered paper.

Voith and Icelandic national power company Landsvirkjun are embarking on a joint pilot project on innovative cavitation monitoring in hydropower plants. The technology group will install the innovative system, an add-on function for its OnCare.Health conditioning monitoring, at the Budarhals hydropower plant in Iceland.

The Spanish paper factory Papel Aralar commissioned Voith and the nonwoven fabric expert Trützschler Nonwovens to deliver a new system for specialty paper production. The PM 5 was developed as a joint project by both companies specifically for the wiping cloth industry. Delivery is planned for September 2020.

With the new TwinDrive double unwind, paper manufacturers achieve an increase in winding capacity of up to 20 percent.

JSC Yarpaper, specialist in the production of paper and cardboard in Russia, signed the contract with Voith for the extension of existing recycled fiber line. A precedent plant audit was carried out by Voith in order to decide for the best solution in regard to final product quality, operating and investment costs.

The new sensor generation features a compact, lightweight design and increases the reliability and availability of the machine direction controls.

The DIWA.6 automatic transmission reduces fuel consumption by up to five percent and thus protects the environment.
