Pickering Showcases Modular PXI, PXIe, and LXI Switching & Simulation Systems at Engineering Design Show 2025

Pickering Interfaces will showcase its range of industry-standard modular PXI/PXIe and LXI signal switching and simulation products for electronic test and verification – including its new 5 Amp battery simulator – on stand J1 at Engineering Design Show (EDS) 2025, at Coventry Building Society Arena from October 8-9, 2025.

Established in 2012, Engineering Design Show (EDS) is the UK's largest trade show dedicated to mechanical, electronics, and embedded design. It provides over 4,500 visiting design engineers and professionals with direct access to the latest products, services, and innovations available, helping them solve design challenges, discover technologies, and get expert advice from more than 200 world-class suppliers. A comprehensive conference programme also provides plentiful opportunities for hands-on learning, networking, and professional development.

Previewing the new 5A battery simulator, Stephen Jenkins, Simulation Product Manager at Pickering, explains: “Our new 5A battery simulator is a next-generation PXI/PXIe module designed to simplify and enhance BMS (battery management system) testing. With up to four fully isolated channels per slot, each capable of supplying up to 8V and 5A, it enables customers to emulate battery cells or modules in both low- and high-voltage stacks. It combines high current drive, precision readback, and hardware safety features in a compact platform ideal for demanding applications across EVs, energy storage, and beyond.”

In addition to the new 5A battery simulator and its BMS test demo, Pickering will showcase the following products and demos for signal switching and sensor simulation:

  • A range of PXI and PXIe switching and simulation modules, housed in a PXIe fully hybrid chassis, including high-density BRIC switching matrices, RF switching, digital I/O, programmable resistors, fault insertion, and LVDT simulator modules for sensor simulation
  • LXI/USB modular chassis – capable of hosting the company’s range of 3U PXI switching and simulation modules in an LXI environment, allowing remote control over a gigabit Ethernet connection
  • A turnkey LXI microwave switching subsystem demo
