Industrial quality assurance: expert dialogue focuses on sustainability and AI applications

With increasing demands on efficiency, sustainability, and digitalisation, industrial quality assurance is evolving to address new challenges in manufacturing environments. Companies are seeking practical solutions that combine reliable quality control with cost-effective and sustainable production processes. Against this backdrop, expert dialogue and knowledge exchange are becoming increasingly important. Platforms that enable direct interaction between suppliers and users support the transfer of application-oriented expertise and contribute to the development of effective quality strategies.

The Control Expert Days, taking place on 20 and 21 May 2026 in Stuttgart, are designed as a compact format focused on practical relevance and professional exchange. The event complements the Control trade fair and brings together participants for presentations, keynote speeches, panel discussions, and networking opportunities.

Industrial quality assurance: expert dialogue focuses on sustainability and AI applications
The programme addresses key industry topics, including sustainability and artificial intelligence in quality assurance. The first day focuses on “Quality Management plus Sustainability”, with presentations covering topics such as laser ultrasound for inline testing, intelligent data analysis, and modern test process management. A keynote by Dipl.-Ing. Michael Salamon from the Fraunhofer Institute for Integrated Circuits IIS highlights developments in X-ray technology and sustainability in quality assurance.

The second day is dedicated to “AI in Quality Assurance – Where do We Stand Today?”. Discussions will explore current and future applications of AI in quality processes. A keynote by Dr Henrike Stephani from the Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Mathematics (ITWM) will address opportunities and challenges of AI in industrial quality control. Additional presentations will cover topics such as sensor fusion, integrated management systems, and the use of AR and AI in visual inspection.

By combining expert presentations with panel discussions and networking opportunities, the event provides a platform for exchanging practical insights and discussing how quality assurance can support sustainable and efficient production. Participation is free of charge for expert visitors, with the event taking place at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre.
