RS Components expands RS Pro test and measurement portfolio.
New range of devices includes cloud-connected dataloggers and environmental meters.
LONDON, UK, xx Month, 2018 - RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), a global multi-channel distributor, has announced a major expansion of its RS Pro test and measurement portfolio with the release of a host of new equipment. The launch includes Wi-Fi cloud-connected dataloggers, a multifunction installation tester, a rugged multimeter, gas leak detectors, moisture meters, pressure meters and particle counters. The new PRO-MOTE Wi-Fi data logger range combines an unobtrusive waterproof design with a range of measurement probes that enable single and dual-channel temperature and humidity monitoring. These Wi-Fi-based devices are simple to set up using a smartphone App, and offer up to two years of battery life.
Ideal for monitoring temperature and humidity in refrigeration or storage units, the PRO-MOTE data loggers can record and upload data to the EasyLog Cloud enabling users to wirelessly stream, record and view temperature and humidity data using a web browser, smartphone or tablet via the EasyLog app. The data loggers are also configurable with alarms for any breaches of set temperature zone. In addition, the EL-Mote range of data logger accessories is available from RS, including external probes for measuring temperature and humidity, and a dedicated power supply.
A rugged multifunction installation tester comes with 3.5-in colour LCD and provides insulation resistance, earth resistance, loop impedance, voltage, RCD, PFG and PSC testing. The unit is designed for use in electrical installations in domestic, commercial and industrial applications, making sure that fixed wiring has been installed correctly.
Another rugged device available is a true-RMS handheld digital multimeter that is ideal for use in harsh environments such as in food processing or other heavy industries. The device is a 6000-count, class II, IP67-rated multimeter that comes in a double-moulded case. Meeting CAT III/IV safety categories and featuring 1000V AC/DC and 10A maximum inputs, key functions include current/voltage, resistance/continuity, capacitance/frequency and duty cycle/temperature/diode measurement.
The expanded portfolio also includes a variety of Coax and LAN testers, including a network tester for RJ45, RJ12/11 and coaxial cables; and an amplifier probe set that quickly identifies and traces cables or wires within a group, as well as checking on the operation of phone lines.
Lastly, the launch also comprises a series of environmental detectors, including: a gas detector for locating combustible gasses such as methane, propane and butane, among others; a series of handheld pressure meters designed for routine maintenance; two particle counters that are ideal for maintenance professionals needing to measure indoor air quality; and a range of non-invasive tools that monitor moisture in wood and other building materials.
Shipping now from RS in the EMEA and Asia Pacific regions, all these products join recently announced equipment in the RS Pro range, including a meterscope that combines the capabilities of a true-RMS digital multimeter with oscilloscope functions, and a series of two-channel 20MHz digital oscilloscopes.
