MAJOR LINE

A new range of comfort units, Major Line available from stock in more than 50 versions, providing cooling capacity from 700 W to 9 kW according to Eurovent ratings. Its resolutely modern styling is a perfect match for all types of interior and its energy consumption is on average 20% lower than that of previous-generation models.

MAJOR LINE
To achieve 20% energy consumption savings, CIAT engineers first developed a new dedicated scroll geometry, and many airflow studies have been conducted with the specific aim of improving the efficiency of the new motors.

Next, Major Line uses HEE (High Energy Efficiency) turbines, a CIAT technology based on a very high-efficiency blade profile. For still further performance improvement, the units can be fitted on option with brushless HEE motors, 85% more economical. The elimination of brushes from these motors naturally reduces mechanical rotational friction. The motors are more efficient, generate less noise and have longer lifetimes.

Lastly, the thermal performance of the comfort units has been optimized by increasing the frontal area of the heat exchanger.

Another outstanding feature of the Major Line range is its extended range of cooling capacities: from 0.7 kW to 9 kW Eurovent rating (7/12 °C – 27 °C - 19°(WB)). This makes it suitable, for example, both for new buildings with low energy requirements (BBC – French low consumption building standard) and in geographical areas demanding high capacity. The range includes a dozen Major Line sizes, each available in four basic assembly configurations (vertical enclosed, horizontal enclosed, vertical without enclosure, horizontal without enclosure). They do not need dedicated instrumentation and control, as they are all compatible with CIAT control systems.

Major Line provides a new-generation level of comfort. Noise has been reduced by 1 to 3 dB with the new scroll and turbine geometries and through the use of more absorbent materials such as ABS and EPS. An optimized air outlet grille has also been developed in our research and innovation centre for improved overall comfort. Finally, the extent of the Major Line range means that the best-fit solution providing the best match for each application can always be identified.

Going beyond the optimized energy efficiency, the environmental dimension is a major factor in the Major Line range. Many eco-design studies have been carried out to reduce the number of parts in each comfort unit, and the remaining parts have been selected according to their end-of-life recyclability. The design of the entire system has been optimized to minimize the number of parts replaced or disassembled during maintenance. For example, if necessary the motor alone can be replaced, not the whole motor-fan assembly as was the case for previous-generation units.

Installation and maintenance of Major Line comfort units are particularly easy. The filters are easily accessible, and all the speed controls are routed to the electrical terminal block and rapidly available on site for custom adjustment. The enclosure is easy to remove, secured by two screws on the bottom. For greater safety, the entire electrical connection part is enclosed in a single casing requiring a tool for access.

Many options and accessories are available for the whole range:
- left/right water connections for easier installation in renovated buildings
- models with or without enclosure, with air intake in conventional version (configuration 1, 41, 1V and 41V) and front air intake (configuration 1D, 41D, 1VD and 41VD)
- outlet and intake grilles, fresh air mixer units, sets of feet, hoses, etc.
- control valve kits.
