Bosch to showcase its latest solutions for future mobility at IAA 2019
The technology and services company stated that it will be showcasing a wide range of electric and automated mobility solutions.
Some of these solutions include Bosch energy-efficient and eco-friendly mobility technology for all powertrain types, assistance systems and automation and Shuttle concept and technology showpiece.
Bosch IoT Shuttle technology for automating, electrifying, personalizing, and connecting can be used for the future driverless electrical powertrain shuttles. As part of a development partnership with the chassis and automotive technology expert Benteler, the company will be demonstrating its electrical powertrains, steering systems, brakes and rolling chassis showpiece for electric vehicles.
Together with the Swedish company Powercell, Bosch intends to “industrialise” a fuel cell stack, as the press release states. In addition to the stack, which converts hydrogen into electrical energy, Bosch is developing all the essential system components to a production-ready stage.
The 48-volt systems offer entry-level hybridization for all vehicle classes that is claimed to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by up to 15 per cent and High-voltage solutions making mobility possible with zero local emissions will be showcased on their booth.
Bosch also states that they will be featuring intelligent thermal management in electric cars and hybrids. This system claims to provide precise distribution of heat and cold and therefore improving the efficiency of the battery by ensuring that all components are working within their optimum temperature range.
Assistance systems and automation is another technology to be featured at IAA 2019. Bosch and Daimler have installed the automated valet parking system in the Mercedes-Benz Museum parking garage in Stuttgart. This is claimed to be the world’s first driverless (SAE Level 4) parking function to be officially approved.
A wide range of driver assistance systems, components, and services for partial, highly, and fully automated driving will also be displayed at their booth.
