COMPACT PRECISION COUPLINGS – READILY AVAILABLE MODEL EKL
Not all elastomer jaw couplings are created equal. In contrast to traditional cast jaw couplings, R+W SERVOMAX couplings are precision machined with curved jaws and fitted with calibrated and preloaded spider inserts for zero backlash. Most models and bore sizes ship in a week or less.
With ever increasing demands for speed, performance, energy efficiency and space savings, the benefits of compact precision elastomer couplings are becoming more widely appealing. The machined curved jaws and preloaded inserts increase the torque density, which saves space and reduces inertia.
The enhanced hub concentricity improves balance, which reduces vibration and supports longer machine life. Clamping hubs, available with or without keyways, create a frictional lock over shafting, which eliminates chatter and wear during starts, stops and reversals. Multiple hardness levels for the inserts allow the user to optimize the flexibility and vibration damping to their application, with additional specialty inserts for electrical conductivity and high thermal stability.
