TE News: TE’s cable cleats protect assets and secure product cables

A new series of V0 cable cleats from TE Connectivity (TE), a world leader in connectivity and sensors, improves cable management and protection in a wide range of applications, including wind farms, substations, data centers, rail & metro, and more.

TE News: TE’s cable cleats protect assets and secure product cables

Protect assets and ensure reliability by securing power cables with TE’s cable cleats. Effective cable management for a wide range of applications with flame-retardant and easy-to-install product.

As energy demand grows, so does the complexity of cable systems. Absent or unreliable cable management solutions can lead to high economic losses from asset damage occurring in short-circuit fault conditions. Flame-retardant, halogen-free, and pre-assembled, TE’s cable cleats protect assets and increase safety for personnel.

Available in single, dual, and trefoil models, TE’s cable cleats have flat mount, strut nut, and center mount options. The center mount varieties can be used flexibly for turns, as well as straight runs. The flat top design also enables stacking configurations. Pre-assembled versions are available and can significantly simplify installation and reduce installation time. Interlocking EPDM molded inserts provide a strong grip and absorb any cable expansion, cable contraction, and vibrations, and the clamps are firmly closed with stainless-steel hardware.

TE’s cable cleats offer impressive durability. They are made from a V0 polymer, which is impact-resistant, UV-stabilized, halogen-free, corrosion-resistant, and flame-retardant. If exposed to flame, TE’s cable cleats do not release toxic fumes and do not suffer damage. They perform well under extreme temperatures from -40°C to +120°C (-40°F to +248°F) and provide high resistance to electromechanical forces during short circuit conditions. They are suitable for low, medium, and high voltage power cables. The product performance against UV exposure exceeds the requirements of the latest revision of the IEC 61914 standard.

“TE’s new range of cable cleats, available globally, feature an internal rib structure with interlocking elastomeric inserts and are held under compression instead of tension. Thanks to the innovative design and V0 material, TE’s cables cleats stand out in the market as a reliable, simple, and safe solution for cable retention and protection.” says TE Product Manager Richard Nagy.
