Baumer: New international competence center for EPC projects
Baumer bundles its know-how as a worldwide partner of EPC companies. Interdisciplinary teams at two of the instrument manufacturer's locations in France and India jointly form the newly-created Baumer Competence Center for EPC projects. With the "Original Bourdon" trademark from France and successful production facilities in India, Baumer orients its international network toward globally active EPC companies with the new competence center.
EPC (engineering, procurement, construction) stands for detailed planning, acquisition and execution of building and installation work as well as project development in plant construction. The client is either the end customer or a general contractor, the so-called EPC contractor. Baumer brings valuable experience and solution approaches—especially in plant engineering for the oil and gas industry, petrochemicals, the energy industry and water technology—and offers efficient, useful support to everyone involved."For the EPC contractor, Baumer is a strong partner with the necessary understanding of complex processes and structures, while taking international standards and norms into account. Our product and service philosophy guarantees comprehensive support throughout the value chain," emphasizes Christophe Leban, one of the two Baumer Competence Center coordinators.
The portfolio provided includes mechanical instruments such as manometers, temperature measurement devices, liquid level sensors, RTDs, thermocouples, valves, thermowells, and seals. In addition to these components, the entire scope of services is precisely attuned to the needs of EPC projects, from consultation and bid preparation to support following implementation. New tools, such as innovative product configurators, a document management center or the unique BTrace procedure as a central element of the entire process within the Baumer production system. The Baumer EPC activities are jointly coordinated and bundled by Baumer Bourdon Haenni in France and Baumer Technologies India. Mechanical manometers with the proven Bourdon principle and other instruments are developed and produced using the latest production methods at the French location in Vendôme. Like their French counterpart, Baumer Technologies India, with facilities in Mumbai and Vapi, also has extensive experience in EPC, particularly in Asia. As the new EPC competence center, both locations cooperate much more closely and can support customers more effectively on-site. Depending on project and application, the competence center is supported by local Baumer teams and selected distributors.
"We are oriented towards the latest industry standards and constantly update our portfolio to meet customer and industry requirements," said Amit Choksi, who coordinates the competence center from India.
