New capacity regulation technology for BOCK CO2 compressors

BOCK flexxCO2NTROL technology is a new, efficient compressor capacity regulator that allows the capacity of transcritical BOCK CO2 compressors to be adjusted almost stepless to the current capacity requirements of the system. In doing so, the regulation covers a unique range between 100 percent and 25 percent capacity, depending on the operating conditions.

This ensures great economic and technical advantages, especially in application areas with highly fluctuating capacity requirements, such as in many industrial process or supermarket applications: Start-and-stop operation of the compressors is minimized, which reduces the risk of wear and thus increases the service life time of the compressors, including the drive motors. The newly developed system from BOCK includes a digital capacity regulation, which enables an almost stepless adjustment at high part load requirements by means of modulating control of the solenoid valves with high switching frequency via an external system controller.

Use of existing controllers possible
Another plus of BOCK flexxCO2NTROL for the user: The valve control can usually be realized with already existing system controllers. This saves investment as well as operating costs and at the same time ensures a high control quality and operational reliability. With its high economy and system efficiency BOCK flexxCO2NTROL is an attractive alternative to capacity regulation of CO2 compressors with simple compressor start-stop or solutions with frequency inverters.

Market launch from July 2022
With the digital capacity regulator DCR22 CO2 the first product solution from the system family BOCK flexxCO2NTROL will be available from July 2022. The regulator can be used as an accessory component for all transcritical BOCK CO2 4- and 6-cylinder compressors of the series HGX24 CO2 T, HGX34 CO2 T, HGX46 CO2 T, which are optionally equipped with one or maximum two capacity regulators (4-cylinder) or maximum three capacity regulators (6-cylinder) per compressor.
