Aavid Thermalloy
A reliable choice in liquid cooling from concept to series production
In response to the need to cool electronics with progressively higher heat density and reduced spaces but at the same time improve performance, Aavid Thermalloy has developed a range of both standard and customizable products to satisfy all these requirements.
Many companies which produce electronics or machinery are hesitant about using water cooled systems for electronic circuits. The systems which Aavid supply guarantee maximum reliability because whatever the required operating condition may be, it is tested to last and 100% of the parts are tested for leakages. Joints are not sealed using simple O-rings but are usually bonded or for the most part are sealed using CAB brazing (in a controlled atmosphere) or through Vacuum brazing.Furthermore, Aavid has a very simple and versatile liquid cooling system called Hydrosink™ by means of which we want to accompany companies working in the inverters, drives and converters markets through the delicate transition from air to liquid systems, which many find difficult to implement but by which they will undoubtedly gain competitive advantages.
Our range of liquid systems also includes more economical products which dissipate low to medium heat densities from Hi-Contact™, which can be supplied with a standard as well as personalised configuration, to Blister cold plates with a stamped cover up to higher performing solutions with specially designed channels which are more flexible and can be adapted to customers’ specific requirements and are capable of dissipating more than 2.5kW from an IGBT measuring 140 x 100.
Aavid’s production site in Bologna (Italy) is equipped to carry out pressure tests up to 100 bar with various types of fluid as well as being able to assist our customers in developing new products by leveraging the know-how of more than 100 engineers working in our global network of design centres, thereby accompanying you from concept through to simulation, thermal testing and prototyping.
