Marking a significant leap in industrial communication, IO-Link is a widely adopted and versatile industrial communication protocol that has become a cornerstone of advanced industrial manufacturing and automation.
At SPS, visitors witnessed the capabilities of CoreTigo’s IO-Link Wireless technology through numerous demos across the show floor:
- Hilscher displayed the IO-Link Wireless Master, as well as the IO-Link Wireless Bridge, supporting various applications.
- Ifm featured a demo, consisting of CoreTigo’s IO-Link Wireless products, complementing its vast array of IO-Link products.
- PROFIBUS & PROFINET International featured a live demo of IO-Link Wireless with products by CoreTigo and its partners, activated live.
- Siboni displayed live IO-Link Wireless embedded servomotors. These are built on B&R’s ACOPOStrak transport system and integrated with VAHLE Group’s inductive contactless power supply (CPS) solutions.
- STMicroelectronics showcased their project with CoreTigo and Horsa, conducted within the Hi Connects consortium, for the use of smart devices for the prevention of unscheduled facility interruptions.
- Turck demonstrated the various options unlocked by integrating CoreTigo’s products with its own.
- Zimmer Group showcased high-end grippers, for various applications, connected and controlled via IO-Link Wireless.
“Our technology is perfect for applications involving movement or rotation. For example, in robotics, traditional cables wear out due to constant motion—usually requiring replacement every 6-12 months. With our wireless solution, that problem disappears,” said Matteo Orlandelli, Coretigo's Country Manager for Italy.
“We focus on specialized automation needs. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth were designed for general internet communication, not automation. Our solution fills that gap with precision.”
Expanding on IO-Link, IO-Link Wireless represents a significant advancement that builds upon its foundations, further revolutionizing the way industrial automation and communication systems operate.
