Antaira switches are agile solutions for extreme environments

Antaira Technologies introduces two new managed gigabit switch models, LMP-2804G-4XS-24-T and LMP-2812G-4X8S-24-T, for low-voltage industrial networking. The switches feature dual power inputs and can supply 30 watts per port to PoE-enabled devices.

Antaira switches are agile solutions for extreme environments

"Antaira's new wide operating temperature, low-voltage input network switches solve the challenge of installation sites that only offer a 12VDC, 24VDC, or 36VDC power source for deploying a high-port-density PoE managed switch,” said Joe Cook, General Manager, Antaira Technologies. “These switch models open up new opportunities across various industries, from emergency response vehicles or mobile control centers relying on 12V batteries to digital currency mining sites running on 24VDC or 36VDC solar.”

The low-voltage switch options are available in multiple configurations of 1G/2.5G/10G SFP+ ports, 1G SFP ports and 1G Ethernet PoE+ ports, and feature a shallow 8” depth housing to fit in almost any cabinet. They feature a fanless design with an extended operating temperature (-40°F to 167°F) for extreme environments.

INSTALLATION FLEXIBILITY
Establishing a strong network backbone takes flexibility in switch design, starting with high port counts to ease future expansions and long-distance fiber connectivity. Antaira LMP-2804G-4XS-24-T and LMP-2812G-4X8S-24-T switch Series meet those requirements:

  • The Antaira LMP-2804G-4XS-24-T switch has 24 Gigabit Ethernet 802.3at PoE ports and four 1G/2.5G/10G SFP+ fiber optic slots. Total PoE budget varies by voltage input: 150W at 12VDC, 300W at 24VDC, and 720W at 48-55VDC. The Antaira LMP-2804G-4XS-24-T is the extended temperature model.
  • The Antaira LMP-2812G-4X8S-24-T switch has 16 Gigabit Ethernet 802.3at PoE ports, four 10G SFP+ fiber slots, and eight 1G SFP fiber slots. Total PoE budgets vary by voltage input: 150W at 12VDC, 300W at 24VDC, and 480W at 48-55VDC. The Antaira LMP-812G-4X8S-24-T features extended temperature.

These industrial switch models feature the Antaira Patented iPoE Budget Control, an intelligent power management technology that dynamically adjusts the PoE budget based on input voltage. When a user selects to use this feature, the Ethernet switch identifies the input power. When powered by 12VDC, the system limits PoE output to 90W, increasing to 240W at 48VDC, ensuring safe and efficient power distribution. If the total power demand exceeds the available budget, iPoE Budget Control automatically prioritizes lower-numbered ports, shutting down power on higher-numbered ports first to maintain stable operation.

With a user-friendly interface and advanced device management capabilities, both Series of switch models are highly configurable, supporting multi-user accounts, IGMP snooping, GVRP, VLAN segmentation, QoS traffic prioritization, and SNMP. These models also strengthen the security posture of connected industrial assets with hardened Static link aggregation (LAG), Link Aggregation Control Protocol (LACP), ARP inspection, RADIUS, TACACS+, SSH, and IP Source Guard. Recognizing the importance of network stability, the industrial PoE switches offer high-availability ring architectures adopting G.8032 ERPS protocols.

INDUSTRIAL-READY DESIGN
An industrial-grade form factor and a fanless design ensure maintenance-free operation in harsh environments, even in areas without air conditioning. An IP30 metal enclosure, robust EFT/ESD protection, and vibration resistance further increases dependability. In addition, Class I, Division 2 hazardous location (C1D2) certification is currently pending. Also pending is IEC 61850-3 protocol certification for installation in substations.
