The ADM team in Romania has successfully commissioned a new high-capacity hydraulic shore crane at the Port of Constanta. This significant upgrade promises to enhance ADM's operational efficiency:
- Increased Barge Discharge Rate: The new crane will significantly speed up the discharge rate of barges, allowing us to handle more cargo in less time.
- Reduced Maintenance Costs: With advanced technology and robust construction, the crane is designed to lower maintenance costs, ensuring smoother and more cost-effective operations.
- Minimized Unscheduled Downtime: Enhanced reliability means fewer unexpected interruptions, allowing us to maintain a steady workflow and meet our commitments more effectively.
Why This Upgrade Matters
The addition of this high-capacity hydraulic shore crane is a major step forward for ADM, aligning with our commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence. Our team is thrilled about this upgrade, and we believe it will play a crucial role in enhancing our service delivery.
"This crane is the fastest of its kind in the Port of Constanta to date, enabling our team to substantially increase productivity and efficiency. Our colleagues are eager to hone their skills with this state-of-the-art equipment," said Ștefan Lăzărescu, Port Operations Manager, Constanta.
Anton Povkhan, General Manager, Danube Region said, "The upgrade allows us to better serve our customers by increasing efficiency of our extended supply chain across the Danube River Silos, Danube Barge Fleet and Port Terminal in Constanta. This is another example of ADM’s long-term commitment to the Port of Constanța and Danube Region as a whole, where we have built a significant presence over the past 20 years. I am grateful to our Operations colleagues and Sennebogen for delivering the project on time and on budget."
