Tata Steel uses Keyence sensors for high-accuracy dimensional inspections of its rails
Tata Steel Europe (whose former name was Corus) is the second largest steel producer in Europe. The parent company, Tata Steel is one of the top ten steel producers in the world. The total capacity of crude steel Group, which employs about 80,000 people on four continents, is over 28 million tons. Tata Steel Rail Division France has 508 people for a production of 456,000 tons of rails and sleepers in 2009. This division has over 150 years of experience in the rail. The products are designed for high-speed lines, conventional networks, heavily loaded routes, metro and urban tramways.

Steel plate rolling mill achieves €46k savings thanks to NSK bearings
Faced with high maintenance costs relating to bearings on a plate rolling mill, a major steel manufacturer has witnessed significant benefits following an application specific product replacement from NSK. Until recently, a daily maintenance routine was required on the rolling mill’s existing open roll bearings to ensure sufficient lubrication. However, analysis by NSK led to the proposal, and subsequent installation, of advanced Sealed-Clean bearings, which are designed specifically for use in heavily contaminated environments and offer 2.7 times longer life than conventional roll neck bearings.
