Pilz at SPS 2025: Safety & Security for digital transformation

In the first phase of its Myzel Lifecycle Platform, the automation company is offering a new Software-as-a-Service solution, which helps machine manufacturers and operators comply with laws and safety requirements over the whole lifecycle.

Manage the whole lifecycle digitally and safely
The Myzel Lifecycle Platform combines the management of machinery and personnel on a single digital platform for the first time. Myzel creates a connection between the assets (employees, machinery, components) and related artefacts, such as instructions, health and safety guidelines or training. One glance at the Myzel Dashboard reveals where action is needed in terms of Safety, Security and compliance. Implementation is made simpler by bookable workflows from safety validation through to management of access permissions.

"Next level" decentralised communication
As part of a successful transformation, data communication should be able to implement both safety and standard communication equally. Once again, Pilz is expanding its IO-Link Safety portfolio and at SPS will be presenting the first certified IO-Link Safety Master for decentralised communication. It expands the functions of a conventional IO-Link Master by adding the option for safe communication in the field of functional safety. In addition, safety gate systems can now be controlled "live" and securely via IO-Link Safety. With the control unit PITgatebox IOLS, live data communication, about the gate status for example, is now possible thanks to the IO-Link communication protocol; data flows directly into the plant controller.

Compact yet highly functional safety sensors are another thematic highlight on the Pilz stand: the new product types of the compact safety gate system PSENmgate now also offer space for control elements such as pushbuttons, thereby offering a wider range of operator functions. In Nuremberg, Pilz will also be focusing on Security, with appropriate solutions. For example, with Identification and Access Management I.A.M. The access permission system PITreader now offers an interface to log in to Windows. Operators can use this to easily set up individual access on Microsoft computers and increase Security.
