Avalue Technology Inc., a global leader in industrial computing solutions, has officially launched its new ARC-xx42 series of rugged touch panel PCs, in response to the rapidly growing demand in smart factories, industrial automation, and edge AI applications. The ARC-xx42 series—comprising models ARC-1242, 1542, 15W42, 1742, 18W42, and 21W42—offers display sizes ranging from 12” to 21.5” and is powered by Intel® 13th Gen Raptor Lake-PS processors, delivering superior computing performance and exceptional I/O expandability.
Full-Range Display Sizes, 16:9 and 4:3 Aspect Ratios Available
Designed to meet diverse industry needs, the ARC-xx42 series provides multiple display sizes and aspect ratios. Models such as the ARC-1242 and 1542 adopt the traditional 4:3 ratio, ideal for control panels and machine integration, while the ARC-15W42, 18W42, and 21W42 feature 16:9 widescreen formats for enhanced visual clarity—ideal for digital signage, kiosks, and semi-outdoor display applications.
All models support both full-flat PCAP (projected capacitive) multi-touch and 5-wire resistive touchscreens, offering users flexibility based on their operational environment.
Fine-Tuned Touch Firmware for a Superior User Experience
To adapt to varying usage scenarios and user habits, the ARC-xx42 series supports touch panel firmware (TP firmware) optimization services. Avalue can fine-tune touch sensitivity, prevent accidental touches, and enable glove-friendly operation—ensuring reliable performance even in oily, wet, or gloved environments.
Anti-Shock and Vibration Design for Harsh Industrial Environments
The ARC-xx42 series features a ruggedized build with industrial-grade protection, meeting shock resistance up to 20Grms and vibration resistance up to 2Grms, making it suitable for use in high-vibration or mobile environments such as production lines and in-vehicle logistics systems.
The front panel is rated IP65 for water and dust resistance, while the rear panel is rated IP41, effectively preventing liquid and dust ingress, thereby extending system longevity.
Additionally, the series includes Avalue’s exclusive Quick Maintenance Access (Service Window)—a design that allows users to replace memory and storage modules on-site without disassembling the unit, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance.
Powered by 13th Gen Intel® Raptor Lake-PS Processors
Built on the FCLGA1700 socket platform, the ARC-xx42 series supports Intel® 13th Gen Core™ i7/i5/i3 processors. Utilizing a hybrid architecture of P-cores and E-cores, the platform balances high single-core performance with robust multi-threading capabilities, achieving up to 79% performance improvement over previous generations. This makes it ideal for compute-intensive tasks such as AI inference, machine vision, and real-time data processing.
For enhanced graphics performance, the series features Intel® Iris Xe GPU, delivering capabilities comparable to entry-level discrete graphics cards—suitable for high-resolution image processing and AI-based visual applications.
Modular I/O Expansion and High-Speed Connectivity
Avalue’s proprietary IET (Intelligent Expansion Technology) is fully supported across the ARC-xx42 series, offering modular expansion with up to 11 types of I/O modules, including COM, USB, CAN bus, and GPIO—allowing for quick customization across industry-specific requirements.
The system also includes two 2.5GbE LAN ports, USB 3.2 Gen2 (10Gbps), USB Type-C with PD and Display support, as well as Wi-Fi 6E, 5G module, and GPS wireless capabilities—ensuring stable, high-speed communication in the most demanding network environments.
