Previewed at SPS 2025, the PLANET product family includes single-phase and three-phase DIN-rail power supplies engineered to meet the evolving needs of modern automation systems. The range combines high efficiency, long service life, and ease of installation in an exceptionally compact footprint.
Industry-first active load sharing
PLANET is the first DIN-rail power supply family to feature active load sharing in parallel operation. This technology enables precise balancing of current between multiple power supplies, ensuring even thermal distribution and improved system reliability. As a result, high-power systems can be implemented more quickly using fanless devices, without compromising performance or lifespan.
High efficiency and compact design
The current PLANET portfolio includes single-phase and three-phase models with power ratings up to 960 W. With efficiency levels reaching 97%, the power supplies significantly reduce energy losses and heat generation, lowering operating costs and supporting CO₂ reduction targets.
Reduced thermal dissipation enables an extremely compact design. For example, the three-phase 960 W unit has a width of just 79 mm, freeing up valuable space in control cabinets and allowing more flexible system layouts.
Flexibility for dynamic industrial loads
For applications with fluctuating power demands—such as intralogistics systems, robotics, and motor-driven automation—PLANET power supplies offer Dynamic BonusPower. This function automatically adapts output to application needs, allowing the three-phase TP960 to deliver power reserves ranging from 120% continuously up to 200% for 12 seconds, depending on duration. This capability supports acceleration and peak-load events without requiring oversized power supplies.
Designed for long-term reliability
PLANET power supplies are built for continuous industrial operation, offering a mean time between failures (MTBF) of up to 325,000 hours and a minimum service life of 100,000 hours. The advanced convection-cooled, fanless design enhances reliability while reducing maintenance requirements.
System protection is further strengthened by the HiccupPlus overload and short-circuit protection mechanism, which improves safety and ensures stable recovery under fault conditions.
Installation and maintenance made easier
User convenience is a key design focus of the PLANET family. Features include quick-connect terminals, a voltage selector with preset values for three-phase variants, and clear visual diagnostics through LED load indicators and AC-OK/DC-OK signals. Documentation is easily accessible via QR code, simplifying commissioning and ongoing maintenance.
Measurable benefits for industrial users
With the launch of PLANET, PULS advances core performance parameters such as efficiency, size, and service life. The result is a new generation of DIN-rail power supplies that help customers save space and energy while reducing total cost of ownership—delivering visibly different and measurably better performance for modern industrial power applications.
