Technip Energies, in partnership with JGC Corporation and Samsung Heavy Industries, has been awarded a significant contract by Mozambique Rovuma Venture (MRV) to progress work on the Coral Norte Floating Liquefied Natural Gas (FLNG) project offshore Mozambique.
Coral Norte represents the country’s second floating LNG facility and builds on the success of the Coral Sul development. The new contract adds to previously announced early works and confirms continued advancement of Technip Energies’ scope on the project.
The FLNG unit is designed as an enhanced replica of Coral Sul, leveraging the same feed gas composition and field location. This replication strategy incorporates operational experience and lessons learned to reduce execution risk, improve efficiency, increase LNG capacity and optimize overall performance.
Project momentum is already visible, with the hull launch completed on January 16, 2026, in Geoje, South Korea.
Loïc Chapuis, President Project Delivery & Services at Technip Energies, stated that Coral Norte demonstrates the company’s expertise in replicating proven LNG solutions while strengthening its long-standing partnership with Eni and its Area 4 partners.
The award reinforces Technip Energies’ position in complex LNG developments and supports Mozambique’s long-term energy supply ambitions.
