Metso has signed an agreement valued at approximately EUR 25 million with Aldridge Mineral Madencilik A.Ş., a subsidiary of CVK Madencilik, to supply key minerals processing equipment for the Yenipazar polymetallic mining project in Yozgat province, Türkiye. Containing significant deposits of copper, lead, zinc, gold, and silver, the greenfield site represents one of the country's most strategic polymetallic resources. Hüseyin Çevik, Chairman of CVK Madencilik, emphasized that Metso’s established local presence in Türkiye and proven metallurgical know-how were critical factors in selecting a technology partner capable of managing complex comminution and beneficiation flowsheets.
The comprehensive scope of delivery for the Yenipazar concentrator plant encompasses a Metso Durarok™ primary sizer, Metso Premier™ semi-autogenous grinding (SAG) and ball mills with specialized linings, TankCell® flotation cells, thickeners, and filtration equipment. To maintain strict process control, the package also integrates Courier® and PSI® on-line slurry analyzers and samplers. Mert Katkay, Sales & Services Director at Metso, noted that the integrated delivery is engineered to maximize equipment utilization, enhance recovery rates, and support the sustainable production of critical metals needed for global electrification and industrial growth.
Additional Context
This section provides technological and market background not explicitly detailed in the original release.
Polymetallic volcanogenic or complex sulfide deposits containing both base metals (copper, lead, zinc) and precious metals (gold, silver) require intricate multi-stage differential flotation flowsheets. In such ores, selective separation is essential to produce distinct, high-grade saleable concentrates while avoiding punitive smelter penalties caused by cross-metal contamination. The combination of advanced SAG and ball milling with automated on-line slurry analyzers (such as Courier X-ray fluorescence units) enables real-time elemental feedback, allowing plant operators to dynamically adjust reagent dosing and circuit parameters. Furthermore, Türkiye continues to expand its domestic mining and mineral processing capabilities, positioning its mineral-rich Anatolian metallogenic belt as a vital source of essential raw materials for regional manufacturing and clean-energy supply chains.
