Verlinde
Grisoni-Zaugg SA, a Swiss company chooses VERLINDE hoists to equip its maintenance facilities.
Stephan SA, integrator in the Verlinde network, has erected 7 suspended cranes in Grisoni-Zaugg SA's new machine maintenance shop.
The Grisoni Group, still run by the founding family, is a major construction industry player in French-speaking Switzerland with a network of companies of high operational flexibility. The company has a workforce of 850.The new machines maintenance shop at Vuadens near Bulle has been equipped by Stephan SA with 7 single girder top running cranes of 5 and 10 metric tons with 6 to 17 m spans. Fitted to the latter are Verlinde EUROBLOC VT2 HPR electric wire rope hoists for the 4 x 5 metric ton cranes and the EUROBLOC VT3 HPR version for the 3 x 10 metric ton cranes. The EUROBLOC VT range of hoists integrates 13 industrial design patents. The HPR (Short Headroom) version that was selected has a trolley whose design enables a precise optimum height of lift.
The dependability of EUROBLOC VT hoists is ensured first and foremost by a smart supervision system and by a variator with a slip or jamming detection feature. They are further fitted with a double safety system for end of travel lifting (limit switches with detection of top and bottom position together with a safety limit switch tripped by the rope lead-off). Lastly, a travel limit switch is mounted on the trolley as standard equipment. The high performance hoist motor has a 40% duty cycle. The components in the range meet protection classes IP55 and IP66.
The new installation includes a metalworking shop and an engineering shop called upon to handle building parts (metal girders, etc.) or motors together with a repair shop dealing with building site machines and equipment (power shovels, ...) and the construction of special assemblies or equipment.
The geographical proximity of Stephan SA, together with its fruitful collaboration with Grisoni-Zaug over many years were determining factors for the selection of the service provider for the project.
