Keyence announces the SR-D100, a versatile, high performance 2D Code Reader for the most challenging reading conditions

The Fusion Imager SR-D100 Series brings together high performance and ease of use in a 2D-code reader like Datamatrix.

Thanks to its unique features, SR-D100 offers very high reading performances. A newly developed decoding algorithm and dual core processor ensure a reliable, high-speed decoding, even with challenging codes with variable reading conditions. Ultra high resolution LED enables to read cell size up to 0,025 mm. A high-luminance, high-density LED lighting is built-in and enables an optimal lighting intensity. Finally, the new AutoID Network Navigator software selects the optimal imaging filter automatically. Thus, conventional problems like an uneven code contrast, shadowing due to surface irregularities, reflection from lighting, uneven cell printing, rough printing surface, reflection from lighting, low contrast printing are overcome by means of the carefully positioned, high-luminance, high-density LEDs, which enable a clear code reading for high-sensitivity imaging. The SR-D100 Series is particularly suited for code reading on resin, IC packages, connectors, casting surfaces, engine blocks, transmission, small parts like LEDs, glass mirror surfaces, glass substrates, wafers or cylindrical surfaces.

Setup of the SR-D100 couldn’t be easier with the AutoID Network Navigator SR-H1WE software. The user just aligns the code in the Live Monitoring Window and then clicks the Tune button. Once in position, the user just clicks the Tune button and the equipment automatically selects the optimal reading settings. Read images can be saved to the reader and sent out, even during operation. Settings are customizable, including timing, save location and saved conditions. With the SR-D100 Series, images are displayed in real-time on the PC.

Finally, the SR-D100 Series offer a very useful feature to monitor and improve marking processes. It verifies the code quality according to the specified code quality standard. Each verification grade result can be output; in addition, a code can be evaluated as higher or lower than a programmed quality threshold, allowing a signal to be output when the quality is too low.

This equipment features Ethernet connectivity, a lighting port with power supply, a TEST switch and 5-LED indicator that enables tuning setup without the need of a PC and a light guide providing visual guidance for target alignment. It is IP65 rated for environmental resistance with a lightweight but durable construction made of an aluminium die-cast body that is highly heat resistant for optimal high-precision detection. There is also the choice to view images on a connected monitor without using a PC.

The SR-D100 includes 4 models: the ultra-high-resolution type SR-D100HA, the high-resolution type SR-D100H, the standard type SR-D100 and the wide-field type SR-D110.
