New ATEX version of Pfaff-silberblau bevel gear boxes from Columbus McKinnon Engineered Products
The ATEX K.13 EX series is designed for Zone 1/21 and 2/22 explosive atmospheres, meeting all ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU requirements, and has undergone rigorous testing and certification procedures.
With its robust design, high gearing efficiency and adaptability, the ATEX version of the K.13 bevel gear box is suitable for all potentially hazardous industrial applications – from biogas plants, paint shops and waste disposal sites to pharmaceutical mixing equipment and marine applications exposed to corrosion risks.
Different gear box variants for multi-jack lifting systems
The housing is made of robust cast iron for maximum explosion protection. The K.13 EX series in three sizes for different ratios (1:1, 2:1, 3:1) generates drive torques of up to 230 Nm. Thanks to diverse adaptation options, it can be optimally matched to individual user requirements. The gear box has a high load capacity, high gearing efficiency and a long service life, ensuring effective long-term use in ATEX lifting systems. The various shaft configurations and mounting flanges allow easy integration even in existing multi-jack lifting systems.
EX protection in explosive atmospheres
European Directive 2014/34/EU sets out requirements for the use of equipment and protection systems in areas where there is a risk of explosion because explosive atmospheres may occur. Classic examples are the oil and (bio)gas industry as well as mines and waste disposal sites. In the pharma industry, the explosion-proof ATEX bevel gear box with primed surface serves as a drive for mixing vessels, filling and packing machines or pill presses. It also ensures a high level of safety in explosive atmospheres in the process industry.
