PCA services for Ethiopian pumps and pump accessories
SGS, examines the requirements for the import and export of pumps and pump accessories for Ethiopia.
With agriculture maintaining a crucial role in Ethiopia’s economy, regulations are in place to protect human health and the environment, with specific requirements to ensure against substandard products.
A Memorandum of Understanding between Ethiopia’s Ministry of Trade and Regional Integration (MOTRI) and Ethiopia Conformity Assessment Enterprises (ECAE) was promulgated to ensure pumps and pump accessories imported into the country align with the applicable national standards.
A Certificate of Conformity (CoC) is mandatory for such consignments before they can be shipped to Ethiopia. Failing to provide a CoC can result in penalties or delay in products' arrival on the market. It is necessary to provide recognized third-party testing and inspection in accredited laboratories for verifiable product conformity assessment approval.
