Amphenol’s Excel
mate Megawatt Charging System plug assembly and inlet now stocking at TTI EuropeDeliver up to 2.23MW charging to commercial & off-road EVs.
TTI IP&E – Europe, a leading specialty distributor of electronic components, is now stocking Excel|mate Megawatt Charging System (MCS) plug assemblies and matching inlets from Amphenol Industrial that support super-fast charging of commercial and off-road electric vehicles. Delivering up to 2.25MW, the new rated combo plugs are built in compliance with IEC TS 63379 and IEC 61851-23-3 standards.
Extending the company’s high voltage coupler outlet (HVCO) series, the Excel|mate charging coupler (CC) combo plug is available for 350A (HVCO4MN001LXXXX) and 1500A (HVCO4M1001LXXXX) with a working voltage up to 1500V. These combo plugs support Megawatt DC charging and feature an ambient temperature range of -40°C up to +55°C with current derating when the working temperature extends beyond +100°C.
Utilising Amphenol’s Radsok® technology, the high current contacts within the plug have been tested to maintain low contact resistance beyond 20,000 mating cycles with an IP44 rating, enabling OEMs to offer extended charge cycle warranties. The liquid cooling system comprises one feedpipe and two outlet pipes working at a coolant pressure of between 0 bar to 7 bar. The Excel|mate MCS inlet is rated at 1000A with a natural cooling copper bar and Amphenol are developing a liquid cooled version which increases the current rating to 3000A.
