Arvato, leading international supply chain service provider, has officially opened a new logistics center in İstanbul. Covering 31,000 square meters over two floors, it marks Arvato’s 9th warehouse in Türkiye and one of the company’s most ambitious projects in the country to date. Located in a strategically attractive industrial area just 19 kilometers from Sabiha Gökçen International Airport (SAW), the site offers excellent access to major logistics hubs and enables flexible, late cut-off times – a key advantage especially for e-commerce operations.
Driving Global Growth with International Clients
“This new site is part of our global growth strategy, which focuses on expanding alongside our international clients,” says Umur Özkal, Managing Director of Arvato in Türkiye & UAE. Due to limited warehouse availability in Istanbul, Arvato pursued a greenfield development – from investigating the land to real estate development and project execution. “The fact that we secured long-term contracts with global clients from the fast fashion and beauty sectors eight months before completion shows the strength of our market insight and client relationships”, explains Özkal. “And it gave us the chance to design the warehouse according to the specific needs of our clients.”
Omnichannel Fulfillment and Automation
The new Istanbul facility offers omnichannel fulfillment services for both B2B and B2C operations, including warehousing, transport management, reverse logistics, and value-added services (VAS). Key advantage is the ability to flexibly manage peak volumes thanks to the site's proximity to Arvato’s other warehouses in the Istanbul region. Beginning in the first half of 2026, the site will feature automation for cosmetics handling in an omnichannel environment – as first site within Arvato’s Turkish network.
More than 400 full-time employees will work at the new site. Arvato places strong emphasis on creating a modern, safe, and motivating work environment for all employees – especially for teams responsible for picking, packing, and shipping.
The technical infrastructure is designed for high-speed operations, supported by integrated sorters and conveyors. As part of Arvato's goal to become climate-neutral by 2030, a solar power plant with a capacity of 1,500 MWh is planned to be established by 2026. Once fully operational, the site will generate significantly more energy than it consumes and prevent approximately 675 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
Türkiye as a Key Market
Türkiye remains one of Arvato’s key growth markets, driven by the dynamic development of e-commerce and the strong consumer demand of a young, quality-focused population. “This new warehouse is more than just another site –it is a clear commitment to the
Turkish market and another step in offering scalable, tailored supply chain solutions to our global clients,” says Umur Özkal. Arvato operates over 300,000 m² of warehouse space in Turkey and has 9 facilities located in Istanbul. It offers end-to-end integrated logistics services to its clients. These facilities manage order picking, packing, shipping, and return processes with high-quality standards.
