C.I.A. Automation and Robotics has extensive experience in the field of advanced automation, proposed as a strategic tool to increase the competitiveness of Italian companies in the world. It offers advanced technologies such as laser scanners, stereoscopic vision equipment and systems that can reproduce a die and copy it directly, automatically recomposing the scanning scattergrams, a very differentiating solution. As most of C.I.A Automation and Robotics applications are specific, they have to interface different kinds of devices in their automatic systems that use different communication protocols. Responding to the increasingly demanding energy saving regulations for motors across many markets, NORD DRIVESYSTEMS now provides IE4 systems from 0.55 to 7.5 kW in motor sizes from 80 to 100. NORD also supplies IE3 motors up to size 180. In addition to standard IE2 models, which have been available worldwide for some time now, the global manufacturer also provides IE2 ATEX versions in size 80 to 180. NORD has also made various additions to its gearbox program.

Curtains up for modernized stage drives

After decades or even centuries, these plays, concerts and operas continue to fascinate the audience. The drive technology for the stage, however, had seen better days and therefore, the theater had new electrical equipment for backstage technology installed during the 2010/2011 season.

MapleSim Breaks New Ground in Hardware-in-the-Loop Real-Time Simulation for Planetary Rovers
In the space industry, the design, building and testing of rover prototypes is extremely expensive and system testing typically does not occur until late in the design/testing process, leading to a long development time. In response to this, Dr. Amir Khajepour, Canada Research Chair in Mechatronic Vehicle Systems and Professor of Engineering in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering department at the University of Waterloo (UW), and his team worked with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and Maplesoft, to develop a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test platform for solar powered planetary rovers.
