Technology focus for energy transition minerals
At the Future Minerals Forum, held in Riyadh from January 13–15, Metso will present minerals processing technologies designed to support the production of copper, gold, phosphate, green steel inputs, and other energy transition minerals. The company’s participation reflects growing technical emphasis on process efficiency, lifecycle optimisation, and sustainability across large-scale mining operations.
The forum programme includes panel and roundtable discussions involving senior leadership, addressing how minerals processing technologies can support national industrial development goals and long-term resource security.
Alignment with Saudi mining strategy
Saudi Arabia’s mining sector is expanding as part of broader economic diversification efforts under Saudi Vision 2030, with increasing focus on domestic mineral production and sustainable operational practices. Metso’s technologies are positioned to support these objectives by addressing the full minerals processing flowsheet, from comminution and separation to dewatering and metallurgical processing.
According to company representatives, the technical focus is on enabling reliable throughput, process stability, and long-term operational performance across varied ore bodies and processing conditions.
Regional installed base and lifecycle services
In the Middle East, Metso’s installed base spans crushing, screening, grinding, separation, and pyrometallurgical processing, supported by slurry pumping systems, spare and wear parts, and lifecycle services. These capabilities are relevant for operations handling copper, gold, phosphate, rare earth elements, and iron ore, where equipment availability and process continuity are critical.
The company reports a significant expansion of its local workforce in Saudi Arabia over the past five years, reflecting increased regional project activity and a strategy of local technical presence to support customers throughout project and operational lifecycles.
Industry engagement at the forum
Metso’s technical experts will be available for discussions at booth PP03, focusing on minerals processing technologies applicable to large-scale mining projects and long-term operational optimisation. Additional details on discussion topics and sessions are expected to be released closer to the event date by the organisers of the Future Minerals Forum.
