IP67 Electronic Fuse for 24 VDC Field Applications
TURCK introduces the TBIF series, an IP67-rated electronic fuse with IO-Link connectivity for selective 24 VDC load protection in decentralized machine concepts.

TURCK has launched the TBIF series, an intelligent electronic fuse designed for 24 VDC power distribution directly in the field. Housed in a robust IP67 enclosure, the device enables selective protection of loads up to 4 A per channel and supports decentralized automation architectures without a traditional control cabinet.
Selective Protection for Modular Machine Concepts
The TBIF series provides adjustable fuse protection in the range from 16 A down to 4 A, allowing coordinated protection of individual loads in modular machine designs. Each channel selectively disconnects affected circuits in the event of overload or short circuit, while unaffected channels remain operational.
Such selective tripping supports higher system availability compared with conventional central protection systems, where a single fault may interrupt multiple loads. The field-mountable IP67 design enables installation close to sensors and actuators, reducing cable lengths and simplifying wiring in distributed automation environments.
IO-Link Communication and Remote Diagnostics
Integrated IO-Link communication enables remote reset, channel control, and continuous monitoring of voltage and current values. Each channel can be switched on or off individually, allowing targeted control and diagnostics via the higher-level automation system.
Real-time status feedback supports predictive maintenance and faster fault localization. Remote reset capability reduces the need for on-site intervention, contributing to lower downtime and maintenance effort.
For cost-sensitive applications, the TBIF can also operate in stand-alone mode. In this configuration, manual reset is performed directly on the device without IO-Link integration.
Installation and Commissioning
The compact housing simplifies integration into machine frames or production lines. Commissioning is supported by the TURCK Automation Suite (TAS), the company’s IIoT and service platform, which enables parameterization, configuration, and diagnostics of connected devices.
TURCK offers three variants of the IP67 electronic fuse: a version with two M8 outputs, a version with two M12 outputs, and a hybrid version with two M8 and two M12 outputs. This flexibility allows adaptation to different connector standards and field device configurations.
By combining selective electronic protection, IO-Link diagnostics, and IP67 field mounting, the TBIF series supports decentralized power distribution in modern industrial automation systems.
