Select components directly from the machine in the event of faults or maintenance requirement? This works with the new Eplan Data Portal app which is now avail-able in two languages from the iTunes Store. It allows users to access over 230,000 components in the portal, search and select mobile devices and components. The intelligent basket transfers the data collected into the original Eplan project, unless the customer has a soft-ware service contract.

As more and more people rely on mobile communications in their daily lives, the pressure on telecom infrastructure is increased. We want telecom base stations to achieve higher performance while decreasing operational costs. This can be a real challenge, especially in rural and scarcely populated areas where we might lack a well-developed power grid and the nearest service technician is miles away.
On Hannover Messe 2013, Atlas Copco surprised the market with a new, very compact oil-injected rotary screw compressor from 7 to 37 kW: the 7-37 GA VSD+. Besides a small footprint, it offers a leap forward in Free Air Delivery (improvements of up to 12%), and a breakthrough energy-efficiency: it requires on average 50% less energy than a comparable idling compressor. This new type of compressor offering a variable speed (frequency-controlled), will be suitable for most industries and aims to contribute significantly to the green economy needs.
