To further exploit the huge potential of 5G, the wireless industry has continued to develop the standard up to Release 16, and development continues. But technology does not stand still, and even as 5G presses forward, a new generation of cellular technology is emerging.
Cubtek Inc. is using network analyzers from Rohde & Schwarz in the development of 4D imaging radar for RF measurement of the E-band. Rohde & Schwarz oscilloscopes and their independently developed, application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC) provide the best measurement tools for automotive radar research and development.
The Oscilloscope Days educational event at Rohde & Schwarz continues to evolve, combining virtual sessions with a series of in-person events, called the School of Measurement. Starting with a digital kick-off on October 27, 2022, the series is set to last through 2023 with stops at multiple locations across Europe. It will cater to electronics engineers from Europe and beyond. Participation in the seminars is free.
Rohde & Schwarz is adding a completely new series to its oscilloscope portfolio that delivers a number of industry firsts. The new R&S MXO 4 series oscilloscopes feature the world’s fastest real-time update rate of over 4.5 million acquisitions per second. Development engineers can now see more signal detail and infrequent events than with any other oscilloscope.
Rohde & Schwarz presents an innovative signal generation and analysis solution for measurements in the D band that will significantly simplify early next generation mobile communications research. The new R&S FE170 frontend extensions are easy to mount to and configure with the R&S SMW200A vector signal generator and the R&S FSW signal and spectrum analyzer. The extensions will allow the two high-end test instruments to cover frequency ranges between 110 GHz and 170 GHz – key spectrum for beyond 5G, for 6G technology and for future automotive radar applications.
The China Mobile Research Institute and Rohde & Schwarz have joined forces to research and validate joint communication and sensing (JCAS). They plan to use the latest R&S AREG800A automotive radar echo generator from Rohde & Schwarz as an object simulator in a JCAS testing solution, thereby accelerating the research and development of JCAS and readying it for industrialization.
The R&S ATS1500C antenna test system from Rohde & Schwarz offers a new temperature test option and a new feed antenna. These additional features enable temperature-controlled measurements in a wide temperature range as well as parallel access to both polarizations, increasing test efficiency and flexibility. The solution will be shown at EuMW from September 27 to 29, 2022 at booth D18 of the Milano Convention Centre.
Rohde & Schwarz has cooperated with the US based CTIA organization to authorize the first multiple angles of arrival (multi-AoA) test system for CTIA OTA performance certification. The solution is based on the successful conformance test system R&S TS8980 while also leveraging the R&S CMX500 5G tester together with the R&S ATS1800M mmWave (FR2) chamber from the advanced chamber portfolio from Rohde & Schwarz.
With the introduction of the new variants R&S FSV3050 and R&S FSVA3050, the frequency range of this signal and spectrum analyzer family is now extended to 50 GHz. An additional option empowers the extension of signal analysis even up to 54 GHz. The high-speed analyzers for lab and production are ideal for 5G NR testing – now also supporting the full FR2 frequency range up to 52.6 GHz and applications in the aerospace & defense industry. The solution will be shown at EuMW from September 27 to 29, 2022 at booth D18 of the Milano Convention Centre.
