GEH recently completed the segmentation of reactor internals at OKG Unit 1. The company’s work at the Oskarshamn site began in 2017 with the dismantling and segmentation of reactor internals of OKG Unit 2.

"By focusing on safety, technical rigor and project execution, our experienced team was able to complete its work on both OKG units on schedule and on budget," said Jay Wileman, GEH President & CEO.

“Everyone involved has done a terrific job,” said Billy Slättengren, OKG Project Manager, Segmentation Reactor Internals. “Now we need to make sure that we keep up the good work and finish strong, with safety first in mind."

The handling and segmentation of reactor internals for units 1 and 2 was carried out underwater utilizing the GEH Primary Segmentation System.

GEH offers comprehensive decommissioning project expertise, including experience gained from reactor internals replacement projects in Japan and segmentation scope for extended power uprate projects in the U.S. GEH has recently been awarded contracts to support the decommissioning of two U.S. reactors.
