ROLLS-ROYCE EXPANDS BATTERY CONTAINER PRODUCTION

The Rolls-Royce's business unit Power Systems is increasing its capacities for producing battery containers. From 2021 the MTU EnergyPacks are to be manufactured in the Siemens-Technopark in Ruhstorf, Bavaria.

GRIPPER UPDATE FOR VACUUM TUBE LIFTER JUMBOERGO

Schmalz is introducing a new generation of area grippers for its vacuum tube lifters in the JumboErgo series. The FMP is hugely versatile and reliably grips heavy workpieces weighing up to 140 kilograms even when only part of the suction area is covered. It replaces the FM gripper. Thanks to its modular design, the FMP also provides a basis for extending the area gripper portfolio for the vacuum tube lifter Jumbo in the future.

GEA ADVANCES THE OPTIMIZATION OF ITS PRODUCTION NETWORK AND INVESTS IN SITE EXPANSION IN POLAND

GEA Group AG decided on strategic guidelines and significant investments to further optimize its production network. In this context, production at the Bodenheim site near Mainz will be discontinued by the end of 2024. The plant in Koszalin, Poland, will be expanded into a Center of Competence for pump production and comprehensive machining. GEA will invest around EUR 30 million in this expansion. Investments and a further consolidation of production and process activities are planned at other locations, too. The aim is to further strengthen GEA’s global production network in order to increase productivity and reduce its cost base.
